Who we are
Corporate social responsibility
01Chaucer in the community
We enjoy playing an active role in our community, making a difference where we can and encouraging our staff to get involved.
Helping to improve disadvantaged lives, we work in two key ways: formally, through our active support for charities, and informally, by supporting the passion and commitment of individual staff members for the particular causes that are close to them.
We aim to make a real difference in the community and to help improve disadvantaged lives.
Over the years, we have actively supported School Home Support which helps disadvantaged children and their parents to engage with, and thrive at school during the difficult transition into primary school and beyond.
02Our Charity Partners
By way of a company-wide vote, we nominated two charities to benefit from our fundraising efforts in 2025
Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure.
The foundation's wish is that Nick’s memory and legacy continues to be kept alive in the market place that he loved so dearly. We fear others in the industry may be struggling to deal with their inner thoughts and mental health issues and that the market often may help cloak the issues. By bringing Nick’s story to the fore, its hoped that others will be brave enough to share and talk openly if they need help.
03Staff activities
From charity races to cooking for homeless people, our staff take part in a wide range of activities to help their local communities and to support the charitable causes they care deeply about.
We actively encourage our people to take part, offering two paid days a year for employees to engage in charity work and matching funds raised through sponsorship and fundraising activities.
We regularly hold breakfast clubs, photography competitions, and cake sales to raise money for charity. Our teams have cleared gardens, built park benches, held CV workshops and helped pupils with their reading skills at schools.
