          Our application process

Our process is designed to assess your strengths, potential and motivation for working with us, throughout the process you will find out more about Chaucer, and the programmes and schemes you are applying to.

            1. Submit your application

You will be asked some basic questions so that we can see if you meet the criteria set out in the job description.

            Top tips:

            • Make sure that you answer all the questions.
            • Review and double-check your application to spot any mistakes before you submit it.

            2. Video interview and online assessment and video interview

If you meet our requirements, you will be sent a link to the SHL talent central hub. You need to register to access the assessments. You have 10 days to complete these assessments.

            Video Interview:
You will then be asked to submit a video where to a series of questions. This will help us to understand your motivation, your understanding of the role and Chaucer, and your strengths that make you a great fit.

            Online assessment:
This assessment takes approximately 30 minutes. You can’t prepare for the assessment as this assesses your skills and potential. For graduates there is an element of cognitive assessment (Graduate 8+).

            Top tips:

            • Do your research as it’s important to understand what the role is you are applying for and more about Chaucer.
            • Think about your strengths and fit for the role.
            • Make sure that you answer honestly, not how you think you should answer.

            3. Assessment Day

Our assessment days are typically a half day session where you will have an Interview, present to the business (seen presentation), and a cognitive assessment (graduates)

            Top tips:

            • Do your research, practise interview questions and if asked to prepare a presentation make sure that you are ready to deliver it.
            • Be yourself – we want to see your authentic self.
            • Ask questions and have a few up your sleeve for the end of the interview. It’s a great chance to get the information you want from us, too.
