Applications are now open for Chaucer's Scholarship Programme, a key part of their ambitious Diversity & Inclusion Agenda

Chaucer, the specialty (re)insurance group, today announced that applications are now open for their scholarship programme for school leavers.

The scholarship will offer one student the opportunity to have their university fees and living expenses paid for the duration of their degree.  In addition, the successful applicant will be mentored by a senior Chaucer figure and given work placements throughout their studies.  The scholarship is part of Chaucer’s ambitious Diversity & Inclusion agenda which seeks to identify, support, and develop the next generation of (re)insurance leaders.

John Fowle, CEO, comments,

“We recognise that not everyone has access to the same opportunities which is something we are actively trying to address through the launch of our new scholarship programme.  We hope that by eliminating the financial barrier and enabling a student to attain a degree, experience university life, and pursue a career in (re)insurance represents a positive step towards greater diversity. We believe that a workforce comprised of employees from all demographics, and with diversity in backgrounds and experiences, enhances our work culture and helps us deliver a better service to brokers and clients.”

The idea for the scholarship originated from Tracy Cattermole, Class Underwriter in the Energy Division, during an internally led Innovation Week.

The scholarship opens today and the successful candidate will be announced on the 26th August.  To find our more and apply, visit - https://form.jotform.com/203222189542350
