Chaucer appoints Johnny Bøgelund as Head of Chaucer Copenhagen

Chaucer, the specialty international (re)insurance group, has appointed Johnny Bøgelund as Head of Chaucer Copenhagen.  Johnny will lead the development of Chaucer’s European and Scandinavian underwriting portfolio, working with the Copenhagen, Oslo and London teams to support the long-term development and growth of Chaucer Copenhagen, which writes international specialty insurance and reinsurance business.

Johnny is a highly respected underwriter, with over 35 years of risk management and underwriting experience.  He joined Chaucer in 2009 from Maersk initially working as a Marine Underwriter before adding Political Violence to his remit. 

In his new role Johnny will also be responsible for growing the Danish branch of Chaucer Insurance Company DAC (which trades as Chaucer Dublin).  Chaucer Dublin is integral to Chaucer’s long-term international strategy of providing brokers and clients with comprehensive specialty underwriting expertise, platform choice and broad distribution options. Chaucer Dublin is rated A- (S&P) and supported by China Re, the 8th largest reinsurance company in the world.
