Chance Gilliland

Chance joined Chaucer in December 2019 as Head of US Property Insurance with responsibility for developing the US Property Insurance portfolio, with a focus on delegated authority distribution through a core group of US partner agents. Chance was previously with Chubb where he worked for close to a decade writing US Property binder business in London and the US. Chance graduated with honours from Troy University, earning a Business degree with a specialisation in Excess and Surplus Lines Insurance. Chance started his professional career during his University studies, completing summer internships at a Property MGA in Florida, a Liability Underwriting Company in New York, and a Property Brokerage in Chicago. Chance worked with ACE Westchester in Atlanta before re-locating to London to work with ACE (now Chubb), where he most recently served as Property Class Underwriter with P+L responsibility for a $125m+ portfolio. He currently holds the ASLI (Associate in Surplus Lines) Designation, completed the Chubb Managers Programme in partnership with the Chartered Management Institute, and is a member of the WSIA U40s.
