04Graduates

If you are a bright graduate with a 2.2 or higher (or an undergraduate with predicted grades of 2.2 or higher) and you are full of ideas and energy, Chaucer could be a great place to launch your career.

Graduate development

As a graduate, we will create a development plan for you. This will include rotations around the business so that you get a deep understanding of what each area does and meet more of our teams. We will also do our best to support your efforts towards a professional qualification. If you show us you are a high flyer, you will join our Advance Programme with greater opportunities for skills building, networking and mentoring with wider industry experts. While most of our graduates begin in London, we have teams in Dublin, Copenhagen, Bermuda, Miami, Dubai and Singapore offering the potential to work abroad.

We are proud to have been voted the ‘Top Company for Graduates to work for’ in the Accountancy and Insurance category, for the past four years by The Job Crowd and to be awarded first place for 2022/23. We were also honoured to have won the 'Best Results' in the Accountancy & Insurance category. In addition, we were voted first place in both the 'Company Culture' and 'Management' category results for Graduates.

We were also honoured to have won the ‘Best Support’ Award in the smaller employer category for 2016/2017.

05Apprentice Scheme

If you have three A Levels, grade A to C, or the BTEC equivalent, our bespoke Apprenticeship Programme offers an excellent start to your career in (re)insurance, giving you the opportunity to work and progress in the City of London and the support for your professional insurance qualification (ACII) or a related qualification to your programme.

Chaucer is a leader in insurance and reinsurance markets, working through Lloyd’s of London and international markets to provide businesses with protection for the risks confronted. An apprenticeship with Chaucer is respected throughout our industry. Work hard and it could set you up for life.

Your development

We build the Apprenticeship Programme around you. This will include exposure to different parts of the business to ensure that you get a deep understanding of how we work and meet more of our team. We expect you to study for an insurance or your programme related professional qualification, which we will fully support financially and with study time. If you show us you are a high flyer, you will take part in our Advance Programme with greater opportunities for skills building, networking and mentoring with wider industry experts.
